I go for cargo bib shorts under a MTB jersey. Patagonia dirt roamers are the best in my experience but cost many p's.

Yeti arc
Did you get it? :)

• #29204
I’m confused, is the bike in the pic your previous yeti or the one you intend to buy? those ones like in the pic - i guess from 2012? - were odd/interesting: very tall looking and steep, carbon rear triangle (probably limited tyre clearance) and option for sliding dropouts. Is that your experience? genuinely curious and the above is not meant to be a diss. I debated getting one for a bit but decided i could stretch to it.

Any mint sauce fans.
Jo is going to be at VIA Atelier, London tomorrow tonight .
Planning on going along to pick up a copy of his book :) -

Correct, 2012. This was my previous foray, a Yeti Big Top. I bloody loved it. I think it ended up in Eastern Europe, some guy hounded me online for a year and sent his friend down from London to collect it!
As you say, a peculiar beast. Interchangeable drop outs, QR / Thru axle / singlespeed. Carbon bonded rear triangle etc.
Think I kept it for 7 years. Which for me, it's a bike ownership record. The Arc is still in stock... Might pull trigger in the morning. 🫣

I have an XL Pace 529 that I have ridden once since I got here- it’s not Australia but it’s closer than Europe

Tempting ... Needs a longer travel fork though, right? I'm trying to find a use for the 120 Reba I have kicking around
-

It’s got a pair of 150mm Cane Creek forks on there, you can certainly go shorter than that but I don’t know about 3cm shorter.

Yeah, language is interesting here - English is the official language, but all Singaporeans have to pass an EFL test before they're eligible for UK university admission.
A lot of the people my age or older will speak Mandarin as well as English, but a lot of the younger people only speak English, or rather Singlish which is a mix of English and Bahasa/Mandarin words and slang.

40% off at Cane Creek for all products - including their EE Wings cranks. Sadly only posting to the US and Canada.

1st world problems. Buy a used one in Oz?
Better yet, you pay my airfare and I'll bring you a frame :P

Cargo shorts would be cool but I don't really wear bibs if I can help it.
I could use the back pocket of Endura Humvee shots actually but I'm more worried about slamming the phone into the saddle there than if it's in jersey pocket.

Hmm, those "tee shirts" look interesting. The LS version might stop my arms being pin cushions.

Anyone on here?
"He was quite excited because there was a big woodland at the back he was into his mountain biking and that's what sold it to him, apparently," said Aled Evans.

Thanks to JB for sorting out the "how to order Cane Creek when not in the US" conundrum, 40% off EE Wings cranks is significant.
They'll go on the Jibb v2 that is now on its way - I ordered Large to replace my current XL as the trails here are fairly slow speed and involve a lot of tight uphill, technical turns - and Raaw wanted me on an L in the first place, so interested to see how that turns out.
I opted for the raw aluminium finish, which is going to make it look like I have three of the same bike, but I do prefer that to the flat black.
UDH hanger, but likely going to transfer my existing kit over using a UDH hanger rather than springing for Transmission, certainly at first.

Speaking of Jibb’s I also (finally) washed my current one.

Am I missing something or are downhill bikes fairly reasonable second hand? After a day at our local downhill track I just had a curious look and it seems what I thought would be £1000s worth of bike could be around £1k or less.
I assume they’ve have a tough life but some look cosmetically ok.
Am I missing something or are they just low tech, small resale market? -
• #29224
Small market I think, what sort of age is the kit you are finding for sale?
-
• #29225
Not new kit I’m sure, some is even 26 inch but that’s ideal for looking for stuff for my lad who’s still on smaller bikes. This Saracen isn’t ancient and it’s well under £1k which makes it feel like something he could have if he keeps riding downhill regularly.
Some of the e trail bikes on show today are ridiculous £££, I stopped googling those!

Framebag or saddlebag to put stuff that if it were in a trouser pocket might stab into your leg in a crash, then phone in trouser or shorts pocket. But- be careful here has I had a crash where my phone scored its camera lenses down my leg. Good old mountain biking.
Maybe sticking it inside body armour is the way forwards- but despite owning armour and taking it with me to for example Queenstown I have never worn it.
