Being employed at a place of manufacturing means I started going to the office at 7, which means I avoid the worst of the rush hour traffic. Going home a 3 p.m also means I might catch a ray of sunshine on the way home during the these dark months. Or spend 30-40 minutes at the small skatepark with the girls on the way home.
Since moving to working from home a few years ago I did drift into the wake up at 8:59 lifestyle. The idea of forcing oneself out on a faux commute to replicate the 30 odd minutes I did in the morning was too much personally. But I’m proving myself wrong.
I shall not be replicating the evening however, 30 minutes riding at 5:30 rush hour in the dark can get fucked. I do not miss fearing for my life as a quashqai dad seethes behind the wheel over something like, what his wife meant last night when she said they had poor communication in their marriage and decides 2 ft in the red light queue is worth my life.
Got a couple of weeks off coming up so maybe I will do some longer morning rides.
