  • Nikka from the barrel is a funny one. Japanese regulations aren’t really strict about what can be labelled as Japanese whisky. Nikka owns Ben Navis distillery. It produces grain whisky that’s aged in bourbon barrels. This whisky is then mixed with single malt and bottled as Nikka From The Barrel.

    So it’s basically scotch labelled as japanese but has American flavour.

    I believed that Hibiki would be a more
    Japanese gift in both presentation and in provenance.
