6 goals conceded in 17 matches so far for us. It might not be pretty but it's effective. Up to second in the championship

I can’t believe it wasn’t everyone’s instant response.
This thread has changed so much.

A lifelong Liverpool FC fan, he was born just 20 years after the club was founded in 1892 and had lived through all eight of his club’s FA Cup wins and 17 of their 19 league title wins.

Exactly, was he born in the ground singing YNWA (33 years before Rodgers And Hammerstein wrote it)? No? Exactly. Plastic.

Really good game at Anfield, so many good performances from Liverpool players. Thought Jones, Bradley and Konate were superb and Gravenberch was very tidy.
Still the only team to beat Liverpool this season 😎

Bradley’s tackle was fucking great.
“Tackles? What is tackles?”
“Fuck off pep”Edit:
I’m sure Barney Tony will say it better than that. -

Well, that was fun and concerning if you're a City supporter. I'm a gunner, but fuck it, I can't wait. making popcorn now. Bring on City shambles.

I think City will probably still win the league, and then overcoming this blip will mean that that actually becomes newsworthy even though it's actually another tedious and inevitable outcome.

I dunno, I think they're possibly shot this year, Rodri is so pivotal for them, KDB seems to be having a prolonged sulk and their team/squad has a really strange age-profile, I think only 2 players between 24-28 started that game against spurs. They've also let some incredible players leave recently (Cole Palmer, Liam Delap, Pedro Porro, Julien Alvarez, Harwood-Bellis looks tasty too) who could surely have improved this team/squad. Maybe it's 4D chess financial management strategy, but it's beginning to look a bit confused. The Kalvin Phillips thing was just weird too. He was never going to work.
Obviously they're still a ridiculous team and with Rodri back their spine would be good enough to allow them to compete on all fronts, but I think without him their flaws are starting to show a bit. Plus some players also just look a bit old/tired. Bernardo Silva and Gundogan don't really want to do the running necessary for a Pep midfield.

You have to consistently refresh the team whilst they are still dominating if you want to continue that dominance. It’s looking increasingly like City have failed to do that, so they are left with a group of 30-something players who are beginning to struggle with niggly injuries. They don’t have ready made replacements for most of them and that’s showing now.
Still, will be a good test of Guardiola’s management skills, and one I’d think he’ll meet head on.

Citeh are currently 4-1 to win the prem (surely the longest odds during Pep's tenure?).
Chelsea are a point behind at 20-1 which says a lot I think

• #172148
Someone should investigate whether Pep has bet on winning the league this year.

…..If it didn’t years ago. City having the book thrown at them is the only thing saving the elite game right now. Chelsea should follow.

On the downside, he did also live through the Roy Hodgson era.
