Update is I switched it all back to 9s, then in my excitement I made the chain to short and lost one of the pins... So guess I will be coming back to this another day !

I do love Campagnolo seatposts, but 80kg'ers hammering many miles around London's shit roads I've concluded the weak link is the clamp (not the lump on board, honestly guv).

Broken my 3rd lower clamp in 6 years, one exactly same as this and other one both front 'ears' snapped off, and this time sheared clean thro the bolt too. Anyone else broken these? I'm not doing hippy or skinny miles or anything , more of a relentless plodder, approx 65,000 miles in last 8 years. Just alu fatigue from larger gent with sub par eyesight and shit roads?

Have full set now of having broken this clamp on campag alu, ti and carbon posts, the posts of this era all seem to use the same clamp.

Campag do replacements but new hips are cheaper I think. I couldn't even find any in Europe on my brief search. Saw one in USA for 85 dollars, so with taxes and postage over 100, which for something i've proven I will likely break in a couple of years is a bit of a stretch.

Don't suppose anyone has any knackered campag seatposts in their shed with those lower brackets in tact they can sells?

Otherwise looks like i'm better of buying a whole new seatpost on eBay.

Ps if the industrial might of china is listening in, can you make some of these seatpost clamps in steel, in both the 0.5 and 1mm pitch interface versions, I'm sure they'll sell like hot cakes. Id rather more durability than less weight. I'll have 3 please, thanks.

Not the work beater bike, it'll make it more stealable. My other bikes are clean...should be a sticker.

Columbis Max work beater ? Tbh at this point I would swap the ever more expensive campy post for something cheap and solid.

Yeah you're right I guess, but like u say those posts are now quite speedy (not so much when I got them) so having a carbon and a ti one out of action just cos of dodgy brackets is a bit annoying. I especially want the ti one back in action.

I'll keep an eye on the bay for cheap replacements, but as u point out I should probably get an alternative so I can escape the doom loop of buy break buy break.

And heh yes Max is a good sturdy commuter/beater, not flexy and hasnt rattled itself to death or done the same to me so far :)

If you could find like, five other folks with the same problem, it might become worth it to 3D scan the part and get it printed in titanium.

You were originally using a Ti record/chorus ? I can see why that would be extremely costly to replace yes ! Even more so than the later chorus/veloce ones like your currently running.
There are some nice seat posts to be had for what is I guess a 27,2 ? Even just an older campy seat post that had "thicker" clamps on them.

I mean I run a 3T Doricltd something, so I can't say I'm acting what I preach, but also because my daily is a 31,6 diameter so didn't want a huge lump of aluminium.

To make a pair of handlebars EPS compatible, do you just have to drill a hole in them?

Does anyone know how to use the EPS magent band to turn it off for storage? (V3)

Do I have to guess where to strap it and then test the gears, or does a light come on or flash or something on the interface when I get the band in the right spot?

Hi there, a quick question.
I am currently building an all-road bike with a Campagnolo Chorus 12sp groupset (hydraulic disc version). I already have the groupset and I do have a set of DT swiss rims and a SON dynamo hub in the front.
I was thinking that Hope had compatible rear hubs, but after emailing them, they don't.
So my next best option is to find campagnolo freehub or ratchet body compatible with a 12x142mm rear hub. Do you think this freehub and hub could work ?

The Hope Pro 4 had a Campag freehub option, it's a shame (but perhaps unsurprising) that Hope have discontinued this for the Pr0 5.

If you don't mind some colour, SJS have a few Pro 4s going cheap and also have the Campagnolo freehub bodies. You may find if you called them and asked nicely that they'd do the swap so you don't have to buy 2 freehub bodies.

Yes, as long as the DT hub you are using is ‘ratchet’ and the freehub you are installing is ‘ratchet’ then it’s all compatible. Make sure on install that you use the designated end cap though.
