Zwift indoor virtual reality trainer

Ask me again tomorrow. My team races at 7 on Tuesdays and the dread has already set in..

I joined a team but missed today's race sign up. It looks punchy. No power up until the final bit, lighter / stronger riders flying up it and then everyone else catching them on the descent.

Cross post from the 3D printing thread but I've just finished printing an upgrade to my Zwift Ride.

Some rockers printed with PETG which use tennis balls to provide the flex.

Also printed a little ‘cup’ for the front peg to raise the height so it wouldn’t alter the geometry. I might make that a wider piece of wood as, even though it feels sturdy, I don’t want it tipping.

Got covid right now which is shit so no testing for at least a few days until I'm feeling better.

That's amazing. What's the zwift bike like? I feel tempted but I also feel like I could buy a cheap alu bike to keep on the trainer for less. Is it quick to swap fits between people? If I could sell it to myself as for me and my wife then it might make sense.

It's pretty good. I had a Wattbike Atom (v1) before that and ERG mode basically didn't work. It would just get stuck in progressively higher resistance until you grind to a halt. It was fine for normal riding but I spend a lot of time using the bike in workout modes whilst I watch an episode or two or something.

I also like the integrated buttons which make it easier to do things in game.

Adjustments are lightning quick (you can see a little orange thing on the top bar which is a magnetic allen wrench. You need to loosen / tighten one bolt for seat post height, stem height and bar reach. I guess that means about 2 mins to adjust each time? There are markers on each so it's just a case of dialling in your fit and writing down the corresponding markers so you can get back to it each time.

Would recommend for the price.
