A few days ago I finally got the Portuguese government grant for the purchase of cargo bikes - 1000€! Next to the 6% VAT on bicycles, I think this makes it the best country to purchase a cargo bike in at the moment (requires citizenship or permanent residency obviously)
Pretty chuffed to say my new Mini-Max ended up costing me about 1400€

We have something like this in austria, 1000€ federal grant + some local subsidies.

I have just paid about €1400 for a mini max frameset in the UK 😭
Chuffed for you though! When will the bike arrive? And what colour did you get!?

Actually a question for Mini-Max owners running fixed lighting.
Where are you mounting it? To the rack? Or to the bit of the frame the rack attaches to?

Waterproof box covers like the madjax one - it's been some time I need a new one.
Where's the best place to provide measurements and get one made? -
• #14760
I think madjax have them made by someone in the Netherlands but I can’t remember who. Maybe drop madjax a message
-
• #14761
Madjax will sell you one, I expect.
I bought mine from them - along with my box.
Thinking about it, all he did was introduce me, he didn't get involved / take a margin. -

Useless in real winter, too many ways for a -30c wind to find you.

Look more than adequate for UK weather, I quite fancy one for my bivvy rides.

Specific use case : my daughter in our cargo bike.

I use a ski suit for mine, not as easy to slip on and off but super toasty

Yeah I think we’re going to try the Amazon special there.
“But in red so people can see me” -

I thought you were going to say Black so people can’t see them. Ninja!

Tucked into a cargobike in your climate sounds exactly right.

Surly selling not one, but two e-cargo bikes that don't come with lights or mudguards feels counter-intuitive in the same vein as their argument against putting a kickstand on the LHT.
The Skid Loader is a fun bike and the inclusion of the Cargo Line DU is really neat, but fuck if installing fenders on this isn't a total headache.

Some descriptions of the thieves coming through local WhatsApp groups. Will be knocking on doors with ring doorbells tmr
Yeah sometimes they do go. Powunity tend to be quite good and quick at replacing them. If it takes ages, give me a shout.
