Really like that. The red 24h numerals are quite unusual, assume it’s a railway issue watch.

Great read!
I'm not typographer at all, but I care about it and it was a nice read. Had always thought typography would be at the center of watch design for all the brands, like center stage.
Turns out it's not.Crazy. A watch it's about mechanical precision, paired with case design and case design must include typography. Wth !

Great read. Many brands overlook the importance of a well designed typeface to be used on the dial. A bad/lazy choice can ruin or lower the overall appearance of a watch significantly imo.

Cheers. Yeah, it seems crazy, especially for Swiss brands when you think of the reputation Switzerland has for design and typography, but it's really just the natural consequence of the brands bringing the dial production in-house (with the few major Swiss dial makers being bought out) and traditional design skills being lost in the move to digital.

All too often these become an after thought.
In Engineering too, security was an after thought and somehow still is and so is design and typography for many apps -

My next newsletter is about that watch, I'm obsessed with it

Nice!
Worse for me is the way the Black Bay line mixes round markers with the snowflake hands. It makes no sense from a design perspective. But clearly, it doesn’t bother most people!
Could you elaborate on this perhaps? What would be the "correct" marker and hand combos for diving watches?

That's nice! What size is it?
