  • Functional you say? -Subbed.

Love that Kona with the silver kit and the basket. Looks like a lot of fun.

  • Yes. Bike still looks wonderful

  • My wife and I had a son back in March, and I have always dreamt about riding an Omnium or Bullitt with my kids when that time would come. I went to test ride an Omnium at the local dealer Knuds Kiosk in Aarhus, and was imediately hooked, so I ordered a frameset and parts from Germany.
Life with a kid doesnt leave much time to work on bikes, so this is by far the slowest build I've ever done, but I'm very happy with the result.
I strapped our child seat from the car to the rack, and went on a ride with my son the other day, and it was a huge success.
Ironically, the only thing this cargo bike is missing at the moment is something to carry a water bottle, jacket, camera and snacks when we're riding, since the car seat takes up all of the rack. Maybe a home made frame bag is the next project.

  • Made a framebag for my Kona from 500d Cordura and Challenge Ecopak epx200. The brilliant 1L side loader cages from @Hulsroy increases the available space inside the main triangle, and by moving them a bit with two adapters, I was able to get to a point where I felt a framebag would be possible. I'm very happy with the result.

  • Nice work!

  • Looking good.

  • Discovered this thread by chance this evening and got hooked! Lovely bikes from the first to the last, and it's impressive to see how your old Trek 520 resembles my "new to me" Fuji.

I hope i'll eventually end up with enough reasons to buy an Omnium, but in the meantime i'll happily follow your adventures! Keep us updated!

  • Great stuff! Thanks for sharing

  • Congrats on the birth of your son, and thanks for more good bike updates!
