  • Yeah shortly after posting this I got the spirit level out and sorted that right out. Goes some way to explaining why I had so much weight on my hands. Shouldn't adjust things mid ride!

  • Still waiting on the carbon frame being delivered to Dolan. I grabbed some Clement MSO tyres which have been great. Did really well on a gravel route Saturday and felt very comfy on 100km road ride on Sunday.

  • Finally new bike day! Chain waxed guards on. Dolan kindly set me up tubeless as well so now I just need to ride it. Rear guard spontaneously disassembled on the shakedown damaging the paint but hey ho.

Need to add some rubber/foam to stop the rear guard rattling on the BB shell mount and sort the fit as well, BDHU etc.

  • Would some VO-spec leather washers do it?
Very very nice build though (once BDHU 😅)

  • This needs some hot pink cables or bar tape

  • The temptation to add colour is strong, also feeling a brightly coloured bar bag at some point

  • mudguard chat was stressing me out - binned them off for some decent gravel. VO washers are a great shout for when I try again.

  • Also in today's news, picked this up (photo from the ad) for the turbo trainer. Plan is to build it up for Mrs velohobbit as the 26" Raleigh wasn't a good fit for her. In the new year I'll trip it and replace the groupset to 10spd shimano MTB so I can reuse the shimano 5700 shifters if I ever decided to make it drop bar.

  • Mudguard chats have the tendency to do that.
Also, intriguing how background blur tends to get rid of wheel spokes....
