Musk has a non-job (only the Senate can create a department) and his attempts to get Republicans in Congress to listen to him have been failing (it seems they're the ones who ultimately knocked back Gaetz's nomination, despite Musk's frenzied lobbying). An epic sulk would seem to be in his future.
