Possibly, if the issue is dirty contacts, unless they’ve been sorting out loose wiring as well.
You can probably cure it permanently by installing a high-quality socket (e.g. Switchcraft, or one of these which I strongly recommend) and making sure it is soldered properly, and the wires are of a decent gauge.
I have been blighted for about 35 years with a crackling input on my Bass.
I send it to a a bloke to fix it and he charges me money, fixes it and gives it back.
I got a crackle the other day and thought..ok I’ll tackle this myself. YouTube told me to roll some sandpaper into a tube, shove it in the Jack and scratch about a bit. This fixed the crackles. I then did it to a couple of crackly old amps.
Have I been paying tens of pounds to people to just do this for 3 decades?
