I My preference is the microwave - am I missing a trick and should I bust out the rice cooker?

I’ve been in bed with flu most of the week. If it’s late enough in the year for flu, it’s late enough for mincers. My one task for this weekend is to get myself to Greggs and buy in bulk…
-

a greggs mincer or two will see you right
-

If I had a microwave I’d probably use that. Guess a dry heat is better for crumbly pastry though
-

started with the customary classic M&S red box. pastry is a bit claggy. one doesn't really hit the spot. two is slightly more than enough.

Had a Greggs. It worked.
Their coffee however. Not if I can help it again.

Been to two different Gregg's - neither have had mincers. I am despondent.

I was in a Gregg's today too (Walthamstow) and I wasn't looking but I'm pretty sure there weren't any.
Their coffee however. Not if I can help it again.
Black Americano is the only drinkable option. We get free Gregg's drinks from Octopus, first time I went I thought I'd try a flat white - how bad could it be? I poured it down the drain, that's how bad.

I get free Gregg's coffee with Monzo. Agreed on black americano with a dash of milk. It's passable.
Thanks for this tip for Octopus, I now get that too. Cafe Nero as well which is a (small) step up..

Elite mince pies but it’s almost impossible to go there these days as queues are ridiculous
The landrace bakery mince pies look amazing but going to bath for one seems a little extreme

I get free Gregg's coffee with Monzo.
Is that a "perk" for all Monzo account holders?
-
• #3114
Nah, it's with Monzo Plus, which I get for the Network Railcard. Weekly Gregg's and Vue cinema ticket are a bonus. The latter is new but really makes it worthwhile.

My other half bought the Waitrose frangipane ones last week - suffice to say they were pretty awful

My local pub has mince pies as a dessert for the Christmas Dinner. When I alerted my sister she said if you have cream on it's a dessert.

I ordered a flat white, a babyccino, and a mince pie (only my second of the year) yesterday in a popular high street chain. I was asked by the barista if I wanted cream on it. Naturally I assumed this would for the child's drink, imagine my surprise when my mincer arrived with a wobbly peak of finest squirty cream atop.
-
• #3119
It's just an excuse for the barista to have a whipit.

Pictures make them look both dry and burnt.
-
• #3121
I will investigate that, ta.

Can confirm the Landrace ones are top tier, especially when you have them warm at the shop with a little pot of cream. It’s my Christmas ritual.

£2.65 each but the tastiest apparently. In Norwich anyway:

Warming them up! It’s a rice cooker but has slow cook, bake etc settings.
