  • Everyone’s probably seen this bike on here by now, and I’m sadly having to let it go. I stripped it down ready for my planned rad build and then got some interesting news that’s basically changed the course of my next year or three, so realistically this isn’t going to get used.

Seat tube is 48cm - a medium Cotic Cascade is a good comparison for the geometry.

This didn’t sell for £400 as a bike on here, so having grabbed it off eBay and nicked some of the bits off it, I’m only looking to get back exactly what it owes me - so a mad deal of £100 even though I could totally follow the recent trend of flipping shit off here on eBay but I’m also not a total butt.

If you’re feeling extra nice I’d encourage a small donation to either the forum or a pro-Palestinian charity (Jewish Voice for Peace is my personal fave) but that’s your call.

Anyway - the only caveat is that I really want to avoid posting for now. So priority goes to anyone who can collect from Cardiff.

I can include the original fixed wheelset too for free.

Someone please make this a bike again

  • Dibs. I'm in London though. So you know.

  • Roger that - as above I’m looking for someone who can collect from Cardiff in the first instance. So posting dibs noted if it gets to that.

  • What an amazing deal - my only wish is that I was on the island to pick it up.
    glws

  • I'm 170 cm (on a good day) looking at the cotic charts I might be too small for this. And I'd have to have a really short stem for drops....
Happy to drop to "postage only" dibs.

  • I'm interested. I will see if my brother can collect. Can you PM me a rough area please.

  • Whole forum playing pass the parcel with this poor bike

  • Surely better to meet up in a safe area?

  • Have pm'd

  • The frameset is currently in Canton so pretty central. You’ve got first collection dibs so drop me a PM when you know either way!

  • Pm'd

  • Thanks y’all - current dibs queue for collection is as follows:

    1) @Tom13
    2) @Thorntonreed
    3) @Josh

  • I can collect and give it back to the idiot the sold it in the first place.

  • can i join the queue?

  • @Thrasher is not one to be messed with!

  • I sold it to him!

  • Can I put my name in the hat for the next round of pass the Hobo? Thank you please.

  • 1) @Tom13
    2) @Thorntonreed
    3) @Josh
    4) @user155490
    5) @tornadohenry
    6) @Retro_Bastard
    7) @jmg412
    8) @Chaley

What’s the record for dibs on here lol

  • Let's face it, at 6ft1 this is going to be too small for me, but nothing a Surly sunset bar won't fix

  • Put me down at number 9 on the list please.

  • That looks beautiful and I'm in Cardiff! Seems a rare find from a little web-search, hope I see it out and about one day

  • Could be raggin it around Splott before you know it! ;)

Quick side question - what's the “official reason” for the extra frame triangle between seat and chain stay. Extra rigidity for disc brake mounts? Spotted Genesis use to do this on some bikes so always wondered.

  • as I remember it, back in the mists of time (2008 or something) they brought in more stringent safety tests for bike frames, and a lot of steel frames started bending the seatstay under artifically heavy braking forces (although aiui there were barely any failures in real-world usage). anyway, the simple solution was to add a little support brace so they would pass the test, so virtually everyone making steel mtbs with discs started adding it...
