Try a withdrawal and see how quick they get it right!
I'd have stuck that in a nice high interest account or premium bonds

It was tempting.

Heating on with all the windows open with that credit.

I've mentioned on here before how a couple of years ago Bulb erroneously billed us £4.5K for one month, and £9K the following month, which we then had to drag Octopus kicking and screaming to the energy ombudsman to get waived. Took a year to get resolved, during which Octopus maintained that we had actually used this amount of gas.
Even after the ombudsman inevitably ruled in our favour, and they paid compensation through gritted teeth, they still maintained that they were right and the victims of a scam, with every email signed "Love and Power"...

Energy companies are like HR - however warm and cuddly they may seem they are not your friend.

That does sound very rubbish and stressful. I wouldn’t take the email signature personally it’s on all their emails. Rather inappropriate though in the context you describe.

Glad it's not just me.

window vac crew, is Karcher the only way to go or can I get the £20 one from Screwfix?
our most-condensated window is (annoyingly) very textured leaded glass so I'm not sure how well any option would work to be fair. Maybe we should just have it over-glazed outside or something

We have the Titan one, which is probably on Black Friday? It sucks water, windows are clear. I can't see what more you'd get with a more expensive one. I do like the colour yellow though.

can I get the £20 one from Screwfix?
Of course. But you'll have to use a different forum going forward. Your call.

We have some budget thing from middle aisle Aldi. Don't see why you would need a karcher

Could you just stop making payments and get them to take it out of your balance. £26k so you’re good for about 6-12 months in this economy.

I have a fluted window that the vac struggles with, but a dry cloth will very quickly wipe it down and then squeezed down the sink achieves the same result.....

yeah this is what i did this morning, I'm probably just talking myself into more gadgets and feeling like im making progress without actually moving

I had a Karcher. It crapped out after very light use.
It has been replaced with a Lidl one which does the same job for less money. -

Since putting the cling film on my windows we don't have condensation on them. I'm sure it now just condenses on a wall or something worse. But we can see outside!

In a bit of a personal U turn, I don’t want to put the cling film on this window 😂 it’s this coloured glass, leaded thing that’s on a lot of the houses locally, can’t see out of it but it looks nice. But also could probably fill a pint glass every morning

Pic of window plz, stained glass envy over here.

It’s got cracks, as do the matching ones around the front door - less than ideal

Beautiful!

Very similar to the ones in our front door and the window next to it (sorry for the terrible photos).
We have a double-glazed porch outside, which lessens the impact of this windows inefficiency I guess.
I think all the houses on the street originally had these, but only a handful left. The wife doesn't like them, but it's one the things I like most about the house!

Stunning.
A friend had replica stained glass made for their front door in a very similar style, which ended up looking strikingly like two delicate sets of cock and balls.

I have already asked my neighbour for a picture of their glass, which we refer to as the “penis rockets”

I mean. There not always the best with ‘financial matters’ took them nearly a year to remove the £26k they wrongly credited my account with.
