  • @lynx that's the fork oil weight that's supplied with the kit when ordering most classic Honda parts distributers, so I'm guessing it is correct.

    @Jung the suspension is soft, but I'm guessing it always is on these old CBs. The bike has covered only 14k miles, so hoping that the aren't worn out.

  • Generally Japanese bikes are always a bit under sprung for the weight of the average Japanese person. I always upped the oil weight a bit when rebuilding forks. If you think you’re gonna overhaul them completely, @Jung isn’t wrong, emulators made a LOT of difference.

    That’s until you get bored and switch completely to cartridge stuff.

  • Yeah - under sprung and under damped. They're often progressive springs too, which I hate.
    Even without the emulators, straight rate springs for your weight and 15w oil is normally a really good upgrade.
