If you like the early dubstep sound and jungle, this is incredible. He has picked some absolute classics to rework.

Picked up the released version of Fusion recently - shout to @Mick for that particular connect. Got a mix planned where that will come very nicely with something else I’ve been meaning to use as an intro tune forever.
Meanwhile, I did know that there’s a fair bit of intrigue over dubplate versions of Fusion, so been familiarising myself with those. Completely different vibe to the released one, which is much harder. So the dubplate version eventually got reworked into the newer sound he was evolving into by the time it was released.
It’s almost as if the tune was right around the time of Dillinja’s sound evolving from the tech-steppy, deeper stuff like on Hardleaders at the time under the Capone alias and the stuff on Prototype, and the imminent Cybotron LP.
Very nice tune. Hope it does eventually resurface. There was of course that famous post Dillinja made of a box of DATs in lockdown, which doesn’t seem to have born much fruit. Here’s hoping.

My brother found this upload of one of the Crystal Palace raves that I’ve got on tape. I could hear that from my bedroom in Sydenham. It reminded me that I bought it in Section 5 on the Kings Road where me and a mate got those NASA jackets (Nice And Safe Attitude) amongst other bits and bobs of London raver clothing back then. Didn’t realise until recently that the shop was run by Rob Playford of Moving Shadow, so when we were in there most weekends we were basically talking to the Moving Shadow crew and we had no idea!

I’m not 100% known for being bright, mind. I never worked out the bloke called Nicky we used to talk to in Blackmarket Records was Nicky Blackmarket. Or that Ash was Ash-a-tack.

Anyone going to The Run Out on Sunday?

The Run Out was great. Good to meet J Majik and Neil Trix and pick up all their bits. The Neil Trix stuff took me completely by surprise. Happened to open Instagram and saw a post, only to discover it was a repress of something so long-forgotten I didn't even know what it was, only that I had the tracks on my iPod all those years ago and used to absolutely rinse them! Didn't even have this on my radar/wantslist.

Crowd in the cinema for Hyper is an eclectic mix

Not very diverse or eclectic in the Chelmsford showing tonight

It was nice to watch and reminisce but the film is a bit meh. Surprised at how little Nicky Blackmarket was in it considering how synonymous they were.
Dugs came out ahed of the showing in Streatham to give a little speech. That was nice.
