  • Mrs Brown's Cows

  • The Good Life has been ruined by loony, lefty, woke nonsense.

  • Only fools.

  • Balanced piece on those ever grumpy farmers here. Probably straight to tofu eating wokerati with my Riverford link though.

  • The Defenders of Dibley

  • All blackshirts great and small. Even has a Siegfried.

  • One of the problems with throwing so many people off balconies is that when it actually accidentally happens everyone is suspicious.

  • When it accidentally happens to people with better balance than just about anyone on the planet?

  • Who just happened to have criticised Russia's invasion of Ukraine on Instagram.

  • i'm sure he just slipped

  • Had Liam Payne been critical of Putin?

  • Slipped on some tea....

  • This sort of passed me by and I've just caught up with it on The News Agents and this article.

Such an odious person who typifies everything wrong with their field of journalism. Love that the police have released details of the bodycam footage and reported her to the watchdog for false reporting.

I assume there is zero chance of them finding against her and zero repercussions even if they did.

  • Her employer has been very critical of the police over this....

  • in other news...
wasn't sure whether to post here, WTF, or car thread.

  • Why is the emu in their 4x4s? Also, that's clearly a big pig.

  • Jeremy Clarksons moment to shine today.

Apparently the governments plan is carpet bomb the countryside with housing for migrants.

  • I almost feel sorry for the farmers who've been duped by various rabble-rousing commentators, who, falsely, believe that they will have to pay inheritance tax.

But then it's farmers, a group who have more grievances than any other group, and who fuck over the countryside on a daily basis.

  • This seems like another of those Labour things that is probably reasonable but has shit messaging and maybe needs a bit of a tweak to thresholds, etc.

I saw a stat somewhere that something like 50% of the land that has been exempted from IHT has had no revenues (i.e. no farming) in the past five years. It's pretty clearly being exploited but that has barely been mentioned.

  • Surely that's retirees

  • It's the same old issue with the right wing press though isn't it.

  • It doesn't help but when Labour ministers are interviewed it is stuff that they could really hammer home but don't.

  • Yeah I don't disagree. There's definitely no shortage of opposing talking heads to listen to though is there.

  • Every news report i've listened to has stated that the Government, tax experts and the IFS have all said that about 500 farms a year will pay inheritance tax under the new rules, but then spend most of the report interviewing farmers, influencers and lobbyists who are all just worried about "what ifs".

  • I'm sure I read something by Martin Lewis saying farmers could take out some kind of insurance to guard against it as well.
