Is that a Chris King seat post collar?

Not the nicest shape but good for matchy

• #132729
See what you mean about the shape... bastard child of a Salsa and a Superstar Components.
-
• #132730
yes but it says king on it

Looks like a AliExpress jobby

• #132732
Yeah not a fan of the shape, but I think the colour (and logo lol) adds more bling than what the shape substracts.

That's unfair when you can get a properly designed one off of aliex for under £3

My new (to me), cheap as fuck e-bike. I'm quite enjoying it. I've had it a week and a half and have already saved 4 days worth of pissing about on expensive public transport. It's not very interesting to ride but does the job of lugging my heavy drum stuff to and from work then practice. I even managed to get it up the steps in the Greenwich Foot Tunnel fully loaded this morning. A bike and some strength training rolled into one.

i looked at the spec of these, they are amazing!
-
• #132740
The spec isn't bad but they are very unreliable! The things that go wrong tend to be pretty terminal as well. The RRP is something wild like £2k. I wouldn't pay much more than the £150 I got it for.

The Pink Flamingos sticker is an aftermarket upgrade btw, that's not standard.

Yeh me too

They're all gone I'm afraid!

Yep, mine's had a few glitches. Great fun when it's working though. I paid £450 for mine, which I think was fair enough. It's still working, I think.

Thorn I've been working on, got it with a 5700 group set but not a fan of 10 speed shimano with their clunky long throw levers. Swapped it out for a DX groupset I had laying around and a few other parts. The tubing on this thing is nuts, never seen such tapering and butting outside of Max.

Really nice in red. Any more plans for it? Seeing a Thorn frame years ago influenced me to get my custom frame fillet brazed.

Road/light off-road use, heavy rider, bike & luggageAnything much to choose between the various Mavic, DT Swiss and WTB options?

Yes, Paul racers to maximise tyre clearance and a dynamo front wheel. Don't like compact bars either but can't spend too much money as my wife may be laid off so all of this won't be any time soon. Don't know if the groupset is a keeper, just can't stand 5700.

• #132749
Racers are really good, had one on my Crust. Good luck on the home front.
-
• #132750
Yeah, had racers before. I almost always end up with Paul brakes. The only ones I wouldn't bother with again are the V brakes.
Excellent, I'll be keeping it that length then.
@PhilDAS bike is not mine - it'd have to come with a step ladder for me. Owner hasnt sat on it yet so there will be a lot of finetuning (& BDHU), but the bar padding was requested, so I put it on :)
@Marcootsee Not decided yet but most likely king or silca, or some other simple looking ti cage.
