  • Allison Pearson is absolutely awful

  • She writes for the Daily Mail…

  • She works for The Telegraph (admittedly same meat, different gravy)

  • And she’s desperately seeking solace on the bin fire that is Twitter - the prevailing view is that “The UK has fallen” and Musk agrees that we are living in a police state.

Free speech advocates seem to struggle with consequences of free speech and express their outrage in national newspapers/TV

  • But if the Telegraph can't foster racism, what's the point of publishing it? (I used to write for it, but only good things. It has become much more evil since I quit.)

  • Pearson saying that she “no longer feels safe in my own country”, zero reflection on how she has directly contributed to where we are with her daily bile and bigotry.

  • Pearson saying that she “no longer feels safe in my own country”

Having made a career of trying to make other people feel unsafe here. At times she seemed to be tag-teaming it with Hartley-Brewer.

  • Life comes at you fast.

  • The absolute irony of her situation.

(I think Isabel Oakeshott would be disappointed not to get mentioned in dispatches).

  • Georgia mother arrested because her son walked a mile into town. Your regular reminder that large parts of the U.S. have no walking culture and few walking options, even in rural areas.

This is Georgia, so it isn't "woke liberals" prosecuting her. The kid is being home-schooled, which should guarantees her a red baseball cap, and yet she's potentially facing prison.

  • you missed the L off the end of your link

  • Fucking L

  • Even tho what she posted on twitter was inciting as it was a total lie.

  • Peter Hegseth, Trump's defence secretary nominee, once said that he doesn't wash his hands and doesn't believe in germs, which has been fact-checked and verified. On the other hand, he does support riding without a helmet, so now I'm conflicted.

  • What century would the US most resemble if everything that Trump and his lackeys have said that they will do, they do?

  • Everything? That would be like Mussolini asking his long lost brother Homer to design the new fascist republic.

  • Exactly.

And it now appears that she also misrepresented her interaction with the police (body cams can record, literally who knew).

Predictably Badenoch and Johnson had already jumped in two footed, not like either to honk out opinion without first establishing the facts.

  • But you're missing the real reason to question the Archbishop's judgement:

  • You're on your own here.
I don't engage with not even 'Not my king's' son.

  • Not asking you to engage, just marvelling at the Mail's endless ability to turn every story into a racist royal story.

  • I think The Mail may have actually outdone themselves here (although I don’t doubt that they will continue to spectacularly raise the bar like a brown shirted Mondo Duplantis)
