Amir Khan never had the best chin but his problem was more defensive technique, he kept his chin in the air a lot and many fighters are going down from a clean shot hanging their chin in the air.
If you look at his fights when Freddie Roach was coaching him and he was tucking his chin in he'd take similar shots but his style and habits were fixed so he'd always revert to type, which became worse as he got older and lost the speed and reaction time to evade those big shots.

AJ's had the same problem through his career - it just gets more pronounced against better opponents and harder punchers. Once he's hit hard he loses shape and his defensive instincts desert him - he doesn't grab and hold, he doesn't cover up properly, he's just there to be hit again. It's different to not being able to take a punch, Bruno was the same - they have the same body type.
My mate is Dubois' lawyer and his team apparently knew they had this one for weeks. Possibly just talk, but he backed it up.

Pretty succinct analysis imo...

I always thought with Bruno it wasn't about when he was hit, but more about when he was gassed - also a problem with that body type.
Is everyone fired up for Saturday? I'm giving Beterbiev the edge, but only because there's more at stake for him (and the clock's ticking). Decent undercard too...

Great fight - love watching Ball, the 'mini-tyson' label is really accurate. Great style, always fun fights.

Spot on, Mark. I’ve often thought of AJ as a modern day Bruno. In more ways than one.
He needs to have another one or two fights, finish on a high (I doubt a belt, but a decent win would be good) and retire. Before it goes any more pear-shaped, which it will for him.

Would've been happy with a draw, but Bivol's face is showing far more damage.

Damn, that fight made my evening. Always been camp Beterbiev but thought Bivol might have just snagged that by the thinnest of margins. Both fighters had very humble and self-aware responses in the post-fight interview.
Seeing Kadyrov spoiled that shizzle though. (Sorry I'll keep politics out of this).

So the circus is in town.
I’m in awe of how successful Paul has been, the amount of talk around it is ridiculous given the level of the fight. -
• #2041
he really has cornered the market in daft exhibition fights cant stand him but he has put in the hours and work to get in the ring.
Im no tyson fan but hope he floors J Paul -

This is the match boxing deserves. A pensioner against some idiot from the internet.

This was my thought. That and/or a dog

Is Tyson, going to bite Paul? Or some other not Boxing thing?
I do wonder, I can see it ending in farce.

I would really not rather pay netflix for this. Anyone help?

• #2049
Yes, watch some boxing instead.

Is that not what happened to Amir Khan.
