I don't understand how my rich mates would get richer off this? Absolutely untenable idea imo

Shit you're right. I hadn't thought of that.
The more I muse the more I think this actually makes sense. It probably is the most efficient way for those in the Office to extract value from Government.

What would you rather do, have meetings with attractive sales reps from private vendors who stroke your ego and tell you how amazing everything will be if you just find a way to privatise, or repeated meetings with haggard looking trade union reps who keep going on about how underfunded they are?

I’d leave worrying about future terms to the Usonians, as it’s their democracy to preserve.
The UK, as a theocratic hereditary monarchy and plutocratic quasi-democracy that has isolated itself from its closest neighbours and instead doubled down on its Stockholmian special relationship, will probably not struggle too much to align its stance with the trump White House’s, except where British public sentiment requires they soften their messaging.

Maybe he wants lots of candidates who won't get through the senate confirmation hearings so he can argue there shouldn't be any senate confirmation hearings.

If the only qualification he's interested in is loyalty, how far will he go with his hirings? MTG? Boebert? Loomer? The Mypillow guy? Enrique Tarrio?

MTG? Boebert?
They must be sat there, fingers crossed.

It's set up to fail from the start. I'd be very surprised if we hear much of it.
After a little bit of enthusiasm and some top-down diktats I expect Musk will find out that changing things is hard and that there are reasons why things are as they are, get bored of it and drop it.

Read somewhere that he might be nominating a lot of people that have zero change of getting through the hearing, just so he can argue that the hearing is corrupt. I thought it sounded like the usual trump conspiracy theories, but maybe not

Gaetz nominated for AG.
Pretty sure this is a sign we've crossed the event horizon
Yes, although it's not an exact science they are mostly accounted for in the employment figures.
