It's the last one I didn't like, haven't heard much of the new one yet.

I was going to @ you as I figured you'd be all over them. She was incredible. Massive bogan, but great energy!

I think they're biggish over here now, yeah. She is amazing, the boys are a bit dull. That pic was taken over six years ago, they haven't done too badly!

They are playing 3 sold out nights at the Roundhouse (~3000 cap) so not doing too badly!

This is still my favourite tune of theirs, very different to their usual aggro stuff. I've never seen them play it live! ☹️

So, a word on FOTL - yeah, they were great, but they came on at 8.15, and I didn't wander into the venue til 8.40. In an ideal world, all bands will come on at 8.15 - but they'll fucking tell you first.

My new favourite band are on tour, saw them on Friday and decided I'd go see them again on Sunday as they were playing a free show over the border in New South Wales.

Was surprised to see them already onstage when I arrived, they weren't supposed to start playing until 4.30pm and it was only quarter to four!

Got chatting to an old fella next to me and he reminded me of the one hour time difference. 🤦‍♂️ Missed my favourite song. 😭 #csb

The venue was this old pub up in the Byron hinterlands, in the middle of fucking nowhere. The place was packed. I've never seen so many beautiful people in one place at the same time, it was like a fucking Calvin Klein ad, really, really weird.

I may have accidentally stumbled on the mythical northern rivers artist community. They were even serving Grifter beer, only ever seen that in Sydney, they're deffo living the Australian dream up there. Great place.

My poor timing on Sunday has reminded me of the time my first band had a big support gig in Paris. We left Brixton in our mate's Escort van and managed to miss our ferry crossing. This made us an hour late. We got to Calais and only then realised the time difference. So we were now two hours late. Mark, our mate, driver and sound guy, drove like a maniac and got us to the outer peripherique with an hour to doors opening.

At this point he pulled out a Paris AtoZ and gave me the job of navigating us to the Olympia. Fortunately all the one way systems were marked (!), we pulled up to the gig ten minutes before the doors opened. We ran in, got our equipment onstage, changed into our stage gear and went on without a soundcheck. Terrifying but exciting, I miss Paris.

That's how I feel when I go to Eltham too...

There was a gig in Eltham when I was a lad, The Meteors used to play there all the time. I heard bad things about the place, never dared go there.
