You've got it slightly backwards. Nobody tried to buy a cabinet position in her administration.

Nothing compared to how much he made from Trump winning.

He'll get a bit roi on that

Looks like Alina Habba will get her reward for spraying bullshit with a fire hose and a look of injured contempt during Trump's trial. She's rumoured to be press secretary.

Anyways on the US haven't sorted out the paywall on this yet, but curious to read https://www.nytimes.com/2024/11/09/opinion/democrats-identity-politics.html

Trump going full kakistocracy this time round with a Fox News host announced as defence secretary.

Thanks for that.
Annoyingly it's still full of generalised annexdotes basically amounting to the Dems being too woke, but again there isn't any analysis as to whether that is right wing media attack lines or the reality.

After his performance at twitter randomly firing developers I'm just assuming any cuts will do.
Of course he's a useful idiot to have "regulations? We don't need no stinking regulations"

I've thankfully avoided most of this absolute car-crash, but just seen his choice for homeland security is a lady who openly said he's not the best candidate for president, wouldn't want him negotiating with Iran, and doesn't agree with anything he says
Go team!

I heard Ramaswamy on EK's podcast say you could cut the Federal workforce in half with no noticeable difference.
So it's reasonable to assume that is the starting point.
Fingers crossed they can find some private sector contractors who are willing to take up the slack if called upon to help their country🙏🇺🇸

Imagine living in a country where your government's entire mandate is strip the wealth out of basic services, while lining the pockets of your already rich mates?
Would never happen here...

I heard Ramaswamy on EK's podcast say you could cut the Federal workforce in half with no noticeable difference.
Ignoring the fact that he just pulled that number out of his arse, let's assume we're living in the MAGAverse and it's true. What does he think making over a million people unemployed will do to the economy?
I guess they can pick up house keeping and landscaping jobs after the mass deportations?

Two heads of a Department of Government Efficiency. Well they could start there.

It has some history from the last time he was in power;

Surely they are just going to gut all funding from democrat leaning states, shout about how they've lowered the national government spend and shrug when people complain about how unfair it is.

They didn't get into that annoyingly. I assume entrepreneurs will create new onshore companies to employ them in good quality jobs not at risk of automation.
EK pulled him up using an eg of whatever their environment agency is called having to process permits for private development contractors. So just on that alone you'd clearly have a hit which would cause mass disruption to the whole construction supply chain.
Which he batted it off with an "obviously not 50% there" and "reducing environmental protection
legislationhurles reduces workforce need". Illustrating the weakness his argument Imo - I.e. Everyone bands around generalisations but once you get into the details it's never that easy.Overall though I'm always struck by the fact that the people who hold these views always seem to have had a very fortunate life without having to consider how you protect the weakest in society. I saw it with some of the US interns I used to manage.

And a massive increase in the unemployed figures is ok too
-
• #19822
They are going to have the exact opposite issue if they deport all the undocumented immigrants.
Assuming they deport 11M immigrants then the employment rate would have to rise to 101% to compensate.

This ^

Are undocumented migrants included in job numbers?

Two heads
Fuck I missed that he'd chucked Ramaswamy in there too. Jesus.
Blue sky thinking here, but....
.... what about bringing all external contracts into government agencies so that you're not having to pay for a private companies shareholder return. Then for every $1 you pay the employees you get an immediate discount through their income tax coming straight back into the goverment coffers?
As shit as this level of influence in politics is how much did Harris raise? It seems like a double standard.
