I kind of love this. I'm harbouring plans to pickup a 2000s luxo-barge SUV and get rid of the Kona Electric as soon as the opportunity presents itself for the right one.
Any mods or upgrades planned for Cayenne? Agreed on the clear windows also. Club Fishbowl for life.

I'm currently looking at Volvo XC90 V8's although just thinking through if my wallet can afford the fuel costs.
Alternative is a T6 XC70.
I ruled out Cayennes due to the amount of bad examples out there but may reconsider.

Couple of up to date pics. No mods planned, just maintenance. Since I’ve bought it’s had a good service, new purge valve due to poor starting after refuelling. It’s booked in for rear boot structs and a gearbox, transfer box and diff oil change. It’s on slightly bigger 19s on new rubber all round.
It’s a great car, minus the fuel bill.

You say no mods… I see this one around a lot locally, now for sale.

A Cayenne with working boot structs is a rare thing. Found a really good Porsche/Germany specialist to correct this. It wasn’t cheap at £311, £192 of that was parts.
I can’t be dealing with vehicle trim anymore, it just never goes back as it should. I learnt this from swapping the interior on my Boxster.

New shit pit addition
Audi A3 8L 1.8T Quattro Sport 3dr in kingfisher blue. I’ll get some pics up soon. These are fairly rare and overlooked. I’ve used to have a 5dr version, and have been looking for over 1year for a 3dr version.

Preparations have been made on the Cayenne ahead of a Euro trip to Stuttgart on the first week of November.
2 years ago me and my Brother did the NC500 for his 40th. In November, I am turning 40 and we are celebrating by taking the Cayenne to Luxembourg, Stuttgart and back via Brugge. We will be heading for the Porsche & Mercedes-Benz museums.
It passed the MOT last week, it only requires a driveshaft boot replacement and near side front headlight lense damage. The driveshaft boot will be replaced this week.
Also took time to replace the serpentine belt, tensioner and deflection pulley.

I love these. They are crazy cheap at the moment and it’s so much car.

Done similar a couple of times on the way out to the ring. The museums were closed when we were close though. I think it was Monday they shut or something. Go to Spa if you can, they always have lots of stuff on. We saw the elms practice and it was ace. Brugge is also amazing if you haven't been before.

HVAC motor decided to give up this week right before we set off on the trip. It was still producing heat, just not blowing, so I took the gamble and replaced the HVAC Motor resistor (blue hedgehog) and luckily everything is working and back to normal.

Somerset to Luxembourg, Stuggart & Brugge
Day 1 & 2
Somerset to Luxembourg via Walton
455milesSet off at 6am and headed to Walton to collect my brother, full up with a full tank and onwards to the channel tunnel.
Traverse through France (boring) towards Lille and Charleroi. Quick stop for a continental McDonald’s, Big Mac and Cheese samurai burger, delicious. Drop down to Arlon on the Luxembourg border. From here we picked up a scenic green michellin map route to Luxembourg for 2 nights, beautiful city but not a lot to do apart from sample the local the beer and eat good food.

Day 3
Luxembourg to Stuggart and Porsche Musueun
215 milesLeft early in the fog and took the semi scenic route via Pirmasens. Utilised the Autobahn and got the Cayenne to 120mph, it really didn’t like it. 100mph I would say was the most comfortable max speed.
The Porsche museum was decent, quite small with nice food in the Boxenstopp Bistro. My brother had the 911 Carrera (schnitzel) and I had the zuffenhausen maultaschen.
The highlights for me was the 993 Turbo S, 968 CS and Green 930 turbo.
We sampled some lovely Helles at Sophie’s brauhus, took in a steak at Block House and finished off in the smoking restaurant of Paulaner

Day 4
Mercedes Benz Musuem
0 milesThis place is absolutely brilliant, you need a full day to see it al. We arrived at 10am and left and 4pm. Lunch was at Bistro, we both had the currywurst.
We walked 3.5miles each way to the museum and felt like we did the same inside. The evening was spent enjoying Sophie’s & Carls Brauhaus.

Day 5
Stuttgart to Brugge
397 MilesRay : Bruges is a shithole.
Ken : Bruges is not a shithole.
Ray : Bruges is a shithole. One gay beer for my gay friend, one normal beer for me because I am normal
Big day of driving, we set off at 7:30am and arrived at 5pm. Belgium motorways are full of tailgating, no signalling nutters. It’s also dead straight so it’s easily to let the mind wonder.
We stayed right in the market square, had a few Trappists and ate at Ribs n Beer.

You made it, which is some good road tripping! Looks mega.
I did a fair bit of driving around Belgium a few years ago and fully concur on their driving. Brugge is nice though. One day is plenty.

I would like to confirm Brugge is a shithole tourist one-day trip hell hole.
My wife is from there and my in-laws still live there, but every time I walk around in the city centre I feel a bit sad.Can also confirm driving in Belgium is shit.
conclusion: Belgium is shit
edit: cayenne is nice btw, best generation by far.

What’s the purpose of the cayenne? Cruiser, suv, long distance gt?
The interior looks sublime, I’d just worry about things going wrong and being pricey. Don’t know how often they break.
Sold the BMw 130i a month ago, I fell out of love with it quite quickly. The N52 drivetrain is brilliant, but at the end of the day it’s still a poxy bmw 1 series.
Insert the new addiction, Porsche Cayenne 3.2 V6 (R32 engine). It’s a brilliant car, fairly high spec, and most importantly it’s got clear windows all round.
