Ha yes! So frustrating. I once (in my misguided middle age) thought i'd cracked the code of writing songs I actually liked but nope... turned out it was just that i'd had a couple of back to back non-stinkers before the old blank-page fear and destructive self-criticism came rushing back.
Better that than the altentive tho: putting someting out there you've convinced yourself is good, but which on reflection turns out to be total catshit. That's happened once or twice as well. *shudders
