I mean I get the problem 'all you have to do is xyz' works when it's your thing that you use regularly, if you've never seen a latch like that then at 1st glance it's not really intuitive how it works
It's a fuckin gate latch, not the vault at the bank of England. If a lift movement doesn't work, try a rotation movement, 10 seconds maximum.
Even if you have mastered the gate latch there is no guarantee you'll open the gate the right way.
