Such an interesting quote.
Why are Dems viewed as the ones pushing identity politics? Are they or is it the right claiming they are?
I'm probably unduly influenced by listening to loads of You're Wrong About a while back. But so often the stories that capture public imagination turn out to be totally bogus with a perfectly reasonable origin story.
In particular thinking about the class of students who self-identified as cats. But there are lots of others.
