Despite bouncing around the room and almost blubbing watching it on Eurosport, I'm still on a massive high. Incredible finish by Cav

That was some finish :-D

top news. well done cav.

Brilliant win. love that dutch commentary too ("eeer eeerr eerrrr - photofinish!")
-

I heard Armstrong wasn't in the right postion on the Poggio, which i understand is a very narrow strech of road.
Cav definitely was though!
Shite media coverage, couldn't find anywhere showing it either

He was dropped on the Cipressa, the climb before the Poggio. And saying he was poorly positioned is no excuse, I've never ridden the race but I know that you need to be close to the front on the last few climbs. Cavendish managed it, why didn't Armstrong?

I don't know, he's been really negative recently in his pre MSR press conferences, talking about not being the same rider as the one who won 7 tours. Not sure if this is some sort of way of getting less media attention, to take the presuure off or genuinely true, maybe both.
The comments about Contrador seemed to have been blown out of proportion as well. -

I thought he was doing all this for charity, therefore he should be craving as much media attention as possible.
-

I don't buy that he's only doing it for charity. Primarily, he doesn't know what to do with himself unless he can compete.
(He's just crashed out of the Vuelta Castilla de Leon and may be injured.)

I don't buy it either. Egotist. Shoulder injury, I hope the ambulance gave him a good dose of HTFU.

I reckon the whole 30-man crash was engineered by the Lance-promo-thinktank-machine in order that he could save face and get out of coming 151st in the Tour...

• #42
At least he can't twitter for a bit...

It was on Eurosport HD again this evening. Got to see it in Hi Def this time, and you could still barely make out the photofinish.
-
• #44
on Sky it said Armstrong had a broken collar bone with Paramedic pics to go with it

What does it feel like to be beaten by Cav? :(

There's a much better thread on Cavendish:

No need to apologise!
