Apparently Saturday lunchtime is great for having the fast lane almost to myself but the changing rooms are overrun with small people and parents being dicks.

Presumably some sort of infrastructure compulsory purchase kind of thing. Like when building a road or railway.

I don't know, but it'll be some kind of statutory power, either one they have by virtue of the Environment Act or something arising from a more recent Act.

It's a Development Consent Order for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects. That is part of The Infrastructure Planning (Applications: Prescribed Forms and Procedure) Regulations 2009 which is an SI which is in turn part of the Planning Act 2008.

Ah, cheers. Not much the swimming lake will be able to do against that, unfortunately. All power to their elbow, but I'd guess this ship has sailed.

What we really need is to stop the sewage getting in the Thames which is partly about treatment capacity but mostly about high storm run off. Slow the water down at source and then we don't need so much in the way of massive civiil engineering later. Having a swimable lake is great but I swim in the river and would like the whole thing to be clean.

Probably, I have no qualifications in this area.

What’s the best most simple swim watch. Lap counting and perhaps putting a “proper” set in ?
(2 hours, warm up, main set of all sorts of stuff, cool down)
