  • I’d go for one of the solar HAQ chronomasters. I like the ones with lume before they used the eagle logo.

  • I was under the impression that most of the “recent” ones are solar powered. Hence the recommended battery change interval is like 5 years.

  • I thought capacitor change on eco drive was way longer than 5 years. That’s part of the attraction for me.

  • You are right, some are not solar powered (like the one I want). I’d like the Tosa Washi paper dial, for sure, but it’s over double the price of the one I’m looking at.

  • PP Cubitus

Bit late. But I like it. The green reminds me of a similar looking Diesel watch I had when I was young.

  • Quite like the beafy Laco Frankfurt GMT pilot watch. Definitely have a soft spot for compression (-like) cases with internal bezels

  • I'm getting IWC pilot.

    Clean.

  • International auction house I would say - ask Sotheby's. You have seen that episode of "Only Fools and Horses" good luck with it !

  • Cheers, it's my bro in laws and he has been in touch with a couple of the big auction houses and they didn't show much interest. I will probably put it on ebay for him & give that a go.

  • While sharing some bike part pics just now, I came across this Seiko 5 Sports retro (SRPK13). The rgb reminded me of my first computer, the Amstrad CPC464, so had to grab this. Bracelets on these things are seriously lacking/basic quality. Not bad but hardly good.

  • True but when are you going to be able to buy one at retail. You might have better luck with a white gold model but that’s £35k?

  • Its the principle tho. I wouldn't do over retail on anything just on principle - personally.

  • love Cartier watches, but the date window here is wtf!! Would have made more sense between I and II

    Happy Friday y’all

  • Modern twist bit like the screw heads

  • Yeah all over the place

  • They’re way better than the old ones were! But yeah, it’s one thing that some microbrands do better at low price points. There are some third party options like Strapcode and Uncle Straps though.

  • Yeah, I've looked at a few on Strap Code but never committed the purchase. I just swap out with other spare natos and silicone straps I have.

  • Can't help thinking if they'd have used IV instead of IIII it would have fit nicely

  • It's back if you missed the opportunity last time

  • We are still waiting to receive ours from when we did the initial “summer blue” order.
I can’t wait to see in the flesh.
    Love a ploprof .

  • I bet it’s stunning in the flesh

  • The Strapcode ones are quite chunky. The Uncle ones are closer to a rattly vintage one. To be honest the one I like most is the jubilee style one that Seiko themselves make for the 5KX GMTs (the SSK series). Solid end links and a decent amount of taper. I need to get another as I currently have mine swapped onto my Kosuke Kawamura. (Happy Friday all btw)

  • The first and last time I ever bought anything from StrapsCo. Would've been better off with an AliExpress strap, look at the difference with the original strap.
