I just looked at the Union Audio website and their news section announced 3 weeks ago they had a big new USA distribution deal so they might not have the capacity to build for a third party any more.

I know who used to put out all the boot 45s back in the noughties, he probably still does it. My mate used to get him minty copies of the originals. I was planning to put out a couple of super rare 60s Detroit things myself, had it all ready to go but life got in the way, everyone seemed to be doing it at one point.

I wonder how many people are getting truly conned here. I guess a fair amount are getting conned without even realising and appreciating how shit the knock off pressings inevitably are.

It begs the question that if there is the capacity to produce runs of fakes, then there is capacity to run more legit pressings. Maybe the bootleggers pay the plants more than the labels do.

I don't really have a huge problem with bootleg copies as long as they are not stupidly priced and sound alright. Especially with insanely rare stuff, but they are then usually overpriced and sound shit.

Yep! And having a cursory look it's not quite as good as it sounds so the script will remain in use for me
