Chairs of select committees can't be shadow ministers, by convention. Add to that the number of Tory MPs who've said they don't want a front bench position (like Sunak and Hunt) and there's not many of the 121 left. As a result, Badenoch doesn't have that many options. Not that I'm overflowing with sympathy for her plight.
I'm confused about this idea that there aren't enough Tories for a shadow cabinet thing? Are there 100 weird shadow roles I don't know about?
