#CSB One of the things that came up in the court case after my last one. Was that the police officer that took my statement and that of the witnesses present, didn’t write down or note if I was wearing a helmet at the time of getting squashed. In court she said that as the incident clearly wasn’t my fault it had no relevance so she didn’t think to ask. He got 9 points (lost his cab license) and a hefty fine. It took 18 months to get my bike paid out and the laughable compensation for my injuries. In that time I didn’t record any rides and was asked why I had stopped using Strava by the drivers solicitors, which did freak me out a bit, obviously because I’ve not been on my bike…

I had a counter claim made against me for the costs of a hire bike while the case was still going. They referenced facebook posts from an account not in my name. Intrusive and hard to deal with when a car has just sent you flying

people lie and cheat - insurance companies take easy route and lack any principles. I was driving a car which a bus changed lanes and hit. They had vid which they refused to share (I assume because it undermined their case) and claimed it was my fault. As we prepared to go to court my weasel insurance company decided to split liability - wasnt happy, the insurance guy told me people lie and this was the easiest solution for them
Good point!
I'm aiming to be back on the bike in the new year when I've finished Anti-Coag Therapy
