Basically I think it indicates the market rather than anything else, it’s just the decisions on what day wheel they put in for the UK market is now not necessarily tied to that. Seiko reference numbers are a law unto themselves. Primarily I think the J / K difference is tied to whether it says "Made in Japan" or just "Japan" on the dial.
