Much, much nicer. This alone is enough to swing the decision for me.

Gonna get a new M4 Pro, worth upgrading to the nano screen or not? I used to love their matt screen but over the years, I have grown to like the gloss screen. I do a fair bit of photo and video editing, but a lo of the time I use my external monitors anyway.

Why is the shuffle in the music player always playing the same sequence? How can I make it random?

And why is it (still!) only capable of grabbing approximately 30 albums at a time to play tracks from?

Has the update to v18 restricted third party keyboards further? It was already limited to only allow
2 languages at the same time but now I can't get it to trigger the second language and long presses on letters don't show the alternative language options.
What is the thinking behind limiting this and why is the build in keyboard so bare bones?
Isn't that what most people interact with? -

You're asking the wrong question.
The real question is: why are their mice so utterly shit?

You are probably holding it wrong.

If anyone is interested (and has the latest beta + AirPods) you can try out the new hearing test feature by adding and using this shortcut.
Apparently I’m all good.

iPhone 13 Pro. Battery has started behaving strangely. When it gets to 50% it dives off a cliff to 30% even with zero screen use and no apps showing battery use in the settings section. When charging there is the same jump in reverse. Apple support couldn’t help remotely. Would like to avoid a 3 hr round trip to the nearest apple shop. Anyone got any ideas?

Mine did similar things before it died completely, cold weather made it worse. Time for a new battery I'd say.

I have a 2012 iPad that my 5yo son uses occasionally for games. Over the weekend something happened and it's factory reset itself and needs activation. For some reason it refuses to connect to my wifi. I don't have a machine running itunes so I can't set it up that way. What are my options here?

I had this, and I found it’s because most modern routers won’t support a lower wifi standard. I solved this by finding an old router and connecting the iPad to that, and not a modern router. Worth checking what WiFi standard the iPad supports, and maybe finding an old router that’ll work with it (eg my eero mesh set up didn’t like the iPad, an old TP link travel router did)

In a similar vein, have a try at connecting to your phone's hotspot. Play around with the security and connection settings.

What does the battery health app say? Sounds similar to my 12 before I got a new battery fitted.

So I've got a small dilemma. My current Mac Mini has 512Gb SSD and I'm using 400 ish Gb of that. My new Mac Mini I opted for the base 256Gb as I plan to keep all my Ableton/Logic/Luna projects on a fast external SSD.
Can you have your profile sitting on an external drive OK? Does it make a difference?

Ah yeah, I disabled WPA3 on the router and it's connected fine and all reactivated.

If anyone is trading in a Mac Mini M1 16GB+ give me a shout please, have a friend who is after one. Thanks
The Pro has a nicer screen.
