life got a bit on top this October

Top ride today! Thank you to everyone that made it, always good to see some new (to me at least) faces! Cold, crisp and dry; about as ideal as it gets at this time of year. Rolling route to Kingdom Cafe and then, I think it's fair to say, quite the sting in the tail with Bayley's, Star and the Cudham Road 'bump' to Downe for good measure.
Looking forward to MDiD '24 already, there's concepts of a plan for the route...

Things not to do before a long ride: read the distance in miles as kilometers and bring just enough nutrition for the shorter ride you thought you’d be doing, don’t study the elevation and attack the rolling hills. Felt like I was operating on absolute fumes by the time Star rolled around, thanks @ElGonzo for saving my ass at the end of the ride and I owe you an oat bar! Had to stop for chips for the half an hour ride to get myself home feeling sorry for myself, but 10/10 top ride and was so great to get out into the lanes - thanks Leo and Jay for organizing and leading!

Have been meaning to come since last year but scheduling never quite worked out! Am free this Saturday so I am very keen, except for the fact that I haven't been on the bike for a month and wasn't even a whippet to begin with, so am slightly hesitant for fear of holding everyone back while I grind up them hills.
