The Diplomat season 2 is very watchable. Fairly light and easy going tv. Definitely set up for a 3rd season

Shame as I ended up quite enjoying it

What!!!! It didn’t even finish. I really enjoyed it.

Oooh! I really enjoyed S1. As you say light, but not empty.

It's great. But quite morish, so I'm glad I've completed it.
It's a great opening. I never knew that was where the Fuggees sample came from.

I'm trying the Slow Horses for a second time and I'm part way through season 2, I don't get the love its had, it's only Gary Oldman that elevates it above your average generic ITV cop drama for me.
The one dimensional characters, hacker guy, private school posh boy etc, very irritating.
I'm only half watching it over my phone but the plot holes still stand out.

I'm roughly five years behind the times, but really enjoying the Patriot on amazon. Loving it's humour, and folk music

I'm just about to finish season 4 of the sopranos!

The first season was shit. But gets better during 2.

Day of the Jackal. Enjoyed it overall. Seems to lurch between being very serious and quite dumb, but not quite dumb enough to make me not want to see the next episode.

Is it just the film longer?
-
• #9917
Nah, they just cut the film into 10 fifteen minute episodes for people with limited attention span.
And there is the time stretch version where it’s played at quarter speed for 10 episodes of an hour each.

We watched the first episode last night and found ourselves enjoying it a lot - certainly enjoyed it's cinematic nature

James Martins Spanish Adventure - could someone put together a version of the show without the segments where James Martin is cooking?

Edge of Darkness - BBC series from Long Ago.
The plot is simple enough, man wants to find out why his daughter died, security services get involved, there are political interests etc. The performances are excellent and the two main leads are super.
The "two guys" characters are also excellent, along with some great passive aggressive remarks.

Remember seeing this one when it originally came out and it definitely left me on edge...

As others have said, the first episode of Day of the Jackal was very good.

The same team made another conspiracy-laden TV thriller series about the food industrly, a few years later, but it wasn't nearly as good. No Joe Don Baker, for a start.
The fact that Mel Gibson of all people remaed EoD as a film is the most vomit-inducing of bleak ironies.

I’m intrigued. Not currently on iPlayer. Did you stream it somewhere?

But
Is it just the film longer?
Worth catching. Saw it when it was originally screened in 2017 (can’t believe it was that long ago!) and again last night in Crouch End.
