  • And Heat Straps is about to launch their own monstrous version too.

  • Dang, if someone wanted to hand me a down a vintage N-1 I'd be very stoked.

This side of the pond they're $795 and $815 for the IH and McCoy's, respectively. Not a jacket I'd buy. But the price is close enough to not even consider the IH IMO.

  • Yeah here the IH is £622 and RMC £800 so the difference is much greater. There seems to be more RMC ones available second hand though. Also, wouldn't want one of the models with the big US Navy tag at the back.

And yeah they're not for everyone but I enjoy wearing my Universal Works one and think they're a good jacket for London winters imo minus the rain protection lacking without a hood.

  • Oof yeah big difference. And given the general salary differences between the UK and the US, 800GBP is way expensive....

  • Thought this may interest people here:

Immediately pre-ordered from my local book shop. Looks super.

  • Sorry for spamming this thread recently. Bought a denim jacket for the first time. 48 hour delivery time from Germany to the middle of nowhere California. After some initial hesitation and mixed feelings, I think I'm kind of obsessed. Shrinkage after first wash was insane.

Warehouse 2002XX Type II jacket and Warehouse 1003XX jeans.

  • I love a Type II! The fit on those jeans is chefkiss too!

  • The shrinkage thing has always confused me, are you advised to size up or are the items usually made big?

The jacket looks a great fit, hope that’s an ‘after’ photo?

  • Bitta both. I wear a large in everything. This is labeled a 42 XL. In the US it would be a Large maybe. I do everything by measurements and having rough shrinkage knowledge. I was worried it’d be too small but I think it’s pretty spot on given how a type II of that era is supposed to fit. Warehouse does run small though.

Forgive the mirror, whoever rented this place before got happy with paint splatter. It’s not dirt! This is prewashing/totally raw and unsanforized.

  • Grazie! Very happy with them.

  • The difference in arm length is wild, worked out pretty good for you though.

  • Wouldn't be able to handle the stress of the unsanforized shrinkage! Struggle as it is to pick the right size for myself when things are one wash already

  • My favourite jeans roughly about 9 years old. Levis 501. 1955 pattern. Still going with some very shite mends

  • I dig those mends! Get some sashiko going :)

  • Ta :) Yeah I need to up my sashiko game.

  • Loose threads galore @JB

  • Haha. Wild. Mine are waiting for me at the post office. The retailer I got mine from in Japan have started selling them with the threads cut off. I guess the threads were freaking people out.

  • Don’t suppose you have any photos of the faded yellow jkt in the background?

  • Weird I'd have thought people buying these would know they're "a feature, not a bug" thing

  • What’s the deal with the loose threads. To the non-initiated it looks a bit silly.

  • Jacket looks great JB!

  • I’ve managed to get back into my denim jackets having slimmed down a bit recently. None of them are “proper” but I do love the wrangler. Not sure of the age, but I’ve had it for years.

  • Just a little homage to WWII jackets where production was more rudimentary due to shortages in labour. I will be trimming mine when I remove the jacket and pants from the packaging later today. Think its supposed to be a bit of fun from Full Count rather than a serious representation of what jeans and denim jackets were like in the early 40s.
