  • Do you tell him nice van engine, every so often ;)

  • That is probably it that I remember. Our mate had one in Tn, drove it to Ikea in Atlanta from Nashville. Bought some stuff. Came home. WHAT A DAY OUT.

  • Talking of Subaru one of the rear calipers is sticking, typically just after changing the discs and pads. Think we've landed on a BMW e61 530d as its replacement in the next few months.

  • Bigg red are your friends

  • Device concerts mechanical power to electric power.

The mechanic said it looks like bad luck. The car is in decent condition otherwise.

  • BYD Dolphin also great fun to drive. Seal UDMI also a bargain!

  • Oh don’t worry I will. We already say his 9lt supercharger billet Chrysler Hemi is a generator motor and he bought it from Harbour Freight.

  • Excellent.

Been offered a masserati quattroporte for 2k with MOT! Would you go for it?

Have been looking at cheap Porsche cayenne for cheap sillyness, or are they another buying a whole lot of problems

  • If it’s the V8 they make all the right noises. The interior is a lovely place to be, but when they go wrong…

  • The last time I saw a Maserati was in Thornton Heath, it looked and sounded great and the driver was grinning like an idiot. Twenty minutes later, on my return journey, it was sat in the middle of the road with the hazards on. The driver was no longer grinning.

  • Aren't they all V8? Shows how much I know. Masser interiors are a very nice place to be. Still have the very nice leather interior from an Italian 2l twin turbo that was made in to a convertible by the fire brigade.

  • At least the electrics were still working.

  • Wait 5 minutes...

  • Aren’t Masarati interiors full of Ford Mondeo buttons etc. I thought the interior design was streamlined to value engineer.

Isn’t it a Ferrari under the hood and Ford on the interior?

  • Check out this guy for guidance
    on Masartti.

I watch his BMW vids and they are mesmerising.

  • You're mean. But probably right.

  • No idea, but sounds like mas logic.

My mas history is very sketchy from never getting over the idea that I wanted to put the Italian spec 2l twin turbo in to an X1/9 in a Dallara esque build. By the time I have the engine, I overlooked tech moving on and can get similar power from alot smaller capacity.

The biturbo interior was a great place to be. While the suspension parts were really thin u shaped metal for cheapness.

  • Other nerdy car observations from Singapore...
I haven't seen one damaged car. Barely even little dings.

The roads appear to be billiard table smooth everywhere. Cycling would be amazing, let alone driving.

    A distinct lack of aggression.

Coming from Sydney, their concept of bad traffic is hilarious.

A relative lack of SUV type vehicles. The small sedan and compact car (Honda jazz style) seems to still dominate. And vans/people movers for actually moving people.

  • I regret to inform you that cycling is not amazing- bear in mind that a VW Golf costs $300,000 here and then imagine how motorists see cyclists, especially when Kiasu runs fiercely in their veins.

  • The left hook is the Singapore motorists favourite move because otherwise it would mean waiting for a cyclist- who basically hasn’t paid for their place on the road- whilst second favourite is just running into them because the general lack of situational awareness is very significant here.

  • Ha, holy shizzle.... I guess that's why I've seen very little cycling.

So all the little Hyundai and Toyota things are like $150000 cars?

  • I guess it's like Malaysia. They have something like a 200% tax on foreign made vehicles.

  • Yes- a grey market import K car is $155,000, and you have to either pay a further $100,000 after ten years have passed or scrap it.

  • ARF or Additional Registration Fee, combined with COE or Certificate Of Entitlement will be maybe $240,000 of the cost of the $300,000 golf.

The government limits cars to 1M by issuing a fixed number of licences (the COE), so the price rises or falls according to the number of cars being scrapped.

  • It's insane. I don't really understand the economy here at all.
