Wtf... A downhill lauf fork?! What's the travel on that?
-
• #48828
It's a Trust Message fork I believe. Super interesting - Mike Levy really rated for the right bike/trails. https://www.pinkbike.com/news/review-6-months-on-the-trust-message-linkage-fork.html

Yeah nah that goes so far out of the realms of good taste that it becomes cool again, I think. I love it.

Need the rest of the photos. But where's a shot of that derailer!

Is this because pf folding, or RD reinvented?

Hang on, this is melting my brain.
...Oh, now I see it - the lower pulley slides sideways across a shaft.
How does a Brompton normally do its derailing? I'd love to see an explanation of the reasoning behind this weirdness... Wonder how well it shifts.

I liked this shiv concept when it came out

That’s pretty much how a standard rear mech works on a Brompton. They are more like a front mech on the back than a traditional derailleur. The tensioner is separate as it has to take up the slack when you fold the bike. If it was part of the mech it would try to change gear as you fold. The shift is ok (ish) in the same way a front mech is ok (ish) moray of the time.

For sale, in Penryn, if you’re keen… “never been ridden”

Doesn't look quite right without the stem/fork the wrong way around or comically badly fitted drops

One life. Ride it.

Guess they ran out of patience in the exact moment when it came to masking the front fork for painting :(

Au contraire, said my horrified fascination...
It occurs to me that perhaps it should be a rule for BSOs, to be photographed from NDS, to account for the shame.
And of course the hilarity of the violence this does to the brand's prestige is to be savoured :)
Ooh! Also, it's a folder! The gift that keeps on giving!
