  • Another memorable moment in this thread's life.

  • Literally updated 18 minutes ago

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kemi_Badenoch

the Tories just can’t hide from the fact that they lack honesty, integrity, humility any sincerity..

to continue lurching right does not benefit our country

  • Despite the sentiment in this thread, I think Badenoch is a difficult opponent for Starmer.

  • https://www.lfgss.com/comments/16864278/. That's why never bet. But I agree with t-v, Labour should be much more worried about Badenoch.

  • She will be her own worst enemy and be done within a year.

  • I think a lot will depend on how hard/easy a ride she gets from the media.

She's prickly and doesn't come across very well when challenged.

  • Yes - I think this will be the case.
But should be some popcorn en route.

  • She's prickly and doesn't come across very well when challenged.

So is Trump, on both counts. I think she's going to be a lot more effective than Jenrick at rebuilding the Tories as MAGA UK. How that succeeds nationally is another question. Think we're going to have an unpleasant time finding out, whether they sink or swim.

  • 131,680 members is 25% down on 2022

  • I don't think Trump spends much time with hostile interviewers though. Badenoch isn't going to have the option to skip the press in the same way.

  • I find it hard to get over the fact that Badenoch always looks mildly disgusted/repulsed by any other humans she's interacting with.
Can't imagine she suffers much from sympathy for the common person

I can't deny that's a totally unintelligent and shallow appraisal of her.

  • In line with how the current deputy PM is referred to in the Starmer thread I await with interest the posts with added references to her physical characteristics when pouring scorn on her actions & policies etc.

  • One of the many reasons that I no longer inhabit that thread.
    :/

  • Understandable.

  • Are you ok?

  • получи жизнь, братан.

  • got to appreciate yr commitment to the bit I guess

  • Is there much evidence that has been done here in the past? Seems a bit harsh, but full disclosure I have previously called Rees Mogg a haunted pencil in this thread.

  • I called it out recently and it was argued it was acceptable. I still disagree.

  • It's probably not a great look to be calling on misogyny

  • someone called her ginger. 🤷

don't really see what the issue is tbh (am ginger fwiw)

  • badenoch is a thorn for labour. as a match up she hits so many weaknesses of keirs leadership that jenrick wouldn't have cut through on. she is an incredibly savvy operator on picking over social issues to further her rightwin fiscal belief. whats more is rather good at using the publics squeemishness about race, gender and ethnicity to her advantage. areas labour is constantly weak on as they are at best race blind, at worst, race averse, at a policy level. reflective of the public at large to be honest.

it's very easy to see her pushing labour right on a variety of current social issues using the in roads labour has already dug for themselves. trans rights, social safety nets, immigration and policing. the historically institutionally racist tory party is not being thickle electing her, especially as the party itself is ruthlessly aware of the power they have to change policy direction out of power. something labour also struggles with realising.

personally have kept an eye on her for her staunch opposition to trans people; having dealings with these sorts of operators leads one to see all the tell tale signs. if she hits her stride she could easily peel off the "stevanage woman", the sort who considers themselves "not x-phoobic y-ist, just cares about fairness". these people are primed to move right on a lot of stuff and labour knows this too. all depends on if she can temper her more openly transparent attacks, such as maternity leave, which are like poison to a campaign.

labour celebrating it with the same "do you think i have to register this as a gift" joke doesn't bode well for them being self aware.

  • But she's mental and is tetchy who can't help being rude when asked a question she doesn't like.
