I'm watching the Kirk Hammett Collection thing, was ready to turn it off as I'm not a Metallica fan and I've always thought Kirk was a total bozo but... His guitar collection is just fabulous and he comes across as a very genuine guy and a massive vintage guitar fan. He's cute and completely Spinal Tap, obvs.

How would one go about squeezing this into a strat wiring harness? Aside from requiring a battery and a little switch I wouldn’t know where to start. Should be more than enough room in the cavity.

I probably won’t do it but if my desire to fuck around remains I might consider it.

Third that. I posted my non-working screamer kit on the FB group and got yelled at for my poor soldering, although there was helpful advice too. Replaced some components and while it still doesn't work, at certain dial settings it does pick up a radio station ...

Is FB the only way to join the group? Last thing I need in my life is another forum but if someone would be able to explain how to put a wee effect into a guitar that’d be handy.

Eurgh, will think about it. Lived this far in life without a FB account. A quick look suggests a stereo jack can be used as the on/off for an onboard battery, then a 3PDT mini toggle to replace the foot switch. Presume the additional circuit would be inserted just before the output jack after the existing pots n that?

After watching it I kinda feel more sorry for him than anything. Feeling sorry for a multi-millionaire rock star with a multi-million dollar guitar collection. 🤦‍♂️
