God help me, I’ve ordered another PRS-25 Smiths Everest, this will be my third. I had an original 40mm with acrylic crystal (sold), the first issue 36mm with the oyster bracelet with the daft extending clasp (lost), and now the current 36mm with jubilee bracelet:

Did I buy the 40mm from you?
I was wearing it the other day trying to decide whether to try and flog it. The sizing is certainly not en-vogue but something about the warmth of the domed acrylic I really like.

This has finally arrived and is much much nicer in the flesh/ on the wrist…

Not mine, I think you bought it from @inchpincher?
If you are looking to move it on, I’d be interested.

Suggestions for an interesting / odd watch around the €30 mark?
I've been tasked with a €30 budget to purchase a gift for the brother-in-law... he's a watch guy and I was thinking something odd and fun would be a hit...
Any ideas? -

That's honestly a great shout... will pop by nearest store to have a look at them. Only concern is wrist size :)

Thanks for the thought, I am but I’m balls deep in property renovations and all the bills that go with it at the moment. When that’s completed I’ll be looking for one though unless one turns up at a ‘too good not to’ kinda price.

Yeah you think Rolexes are expensive until you get a quote for a new bathroom

Looks like some are as big as 36mm
Or an Aliexpress perfectly useless afternoon or no time NOW watch?

Well remembered, I think that's where mine went. Loads of us had them at one point.

My gfs new watch. Hard to believe there’s a movement in there, solid winding action too.

Not the biggest watch enthusiast, but I do like affordable mechanical
Seikospieces. I've passed the bug to some of my yout dem now. One of them (15yo) made a huge achievement that deserves substantial reward...Already got him some stuff of worth (Lego Ferrari Daytona and then some), but he's interested in replacing his broken cheapo watch with a Seiko Prospex Monster. Any other suggestions in the 300-600 range? He's after a diver, and is on the thinner wrist but big hands side of forms. The Monster doesn't look massive (despite its moniker), but has quite the lug-to-lug measurement.

A few places have the really nice SPB313 diver for a fiver under £600 at the moment, which is a steal. That’s the most compact proper Seiko diver I think.

Or the black and gold one for even less

Anyone got any knowledge on the Japanese vintage watch market? I've found a couple of man bracelets I like that seem a little on the cheap side and we all know how that goes, right? Thanks in advance!

I've been researching building my own reproduction 1016. Managed to source a legit ETA 2824, a decent rep dial, hands, crown and case back but still missing the other bits. Much like pairing guitar parts, I'm sure none of it will fit!

Oh nice. That's a great choice. Thanks.

Tissot.
Watch / keyboard combo is strong.
