  • Durability, as you said the components wear out quickly and belt drive is seems like a sensible option.

    I use my Brompton everyday to commute to work and as everyone stated the chain, rear cogs and sometimes jocket wheels needs all to replaced purely due to the fact the positioning of how close it is to the ground, don't need to mention the lovely UK weather which also does not help...

  • I have gates drive and Alfine 11 on our bullitt for that reason excactly - it is amazing to ride through the winter slop and not have to destroy chains and cogs

  • waxing is another option, i need to do that on my brompton
