Tried. My first foray into waxing (proper wax not emulsion/fluid wax) was with my Brompton chain, because why not? Only took a few slightly wet commutes to wash off. Was using Molten Speed Wax, which is meant to be one of the best (for performance at least lol).
I think unless you're already in a good routine with waxing your other chains, it might not be worth it. I'm currently using Silca's wet lube (Synergetic), more because it's what I have at hand, and does help preserve chain life.

that makes sense, i wonder if waxing the chain will get a bit more life out of it. the cost is trivial but it seems a waste of material to get through a chain a year
