  • Was it sold to user156565 or user159172, do we know?

  • User ending in the 5

  • damn, what a twist

I feel £1800 is a steeeeep considering people will part with a second hand WiFi for around £2000

sorry it didn't go to a happy new home, @Jackytwoshoes I feel bad

  • Poor Istvan missed out on the bike and also got slagged off :/

  • No don’t feel bad! You were super helpful :)

  • It’s not your fault Dan….

  • Sorry Itsvan i did edit my post.
Now I have to make a baby boy to name him Itsvan, to apologize to you..

  • Hello the lovely community of LFGSS! First off I want to apologise for being ignorant, I didn’t know that you weren’t allowed to flip items bought on this forum. Secondly, I would just like to explain the situation. After having bought the bike for £1200 and getting it delivered to me for £120 I soon realised that it’s too small for me. I took it out for a days work and came back with severe back pain. So that is why I am selling it. I thought about making £200-£300 on it knowing that a sellers asking price never gets met on places like Facebook marketplace. I don't want to have bad blood on this forum and I hope you all understand my position now that I have explained it.

  • Personally I would have listed it back here for price paid and at a push explained collection cost and asked a buyer to split it or something.

Frankly listing it elsewhere at +£600 just reeks of profiteering.

  • Is flipping a bike on the internet and getting abuse from bike nerds helping with the severe back pain?

  • There's no rule about flipping. It's just a v distasteful thing to do it in a community where people often (in the spirit of said community) price things at bargain levels and generally don't act in a mercenary way. Cos you know, it's a nice thing to do for the community, cos you know, community n all that.

Sorry about your back and the bike not fitting. That happens and it's unfortunate.

    The rest is bullshit.

No one forced you to post it on Facebook. you could have VERY easily offered it up for sale here for what you bought it, it would have sold quickly for 1200. Esp since there was plenty of interested on the original sale listing. You could have even piggybacked on the original sale thread to resell it, it would have gone to that Itsvan fella or the other person who asked if it was still around.

Just be honest, you were greedy and wanted to make a £600 and knew you couldn't do it here without being called out.

    🙄

  • This….

Have a look at the stolen bike threads, for the exact polar opposite, also with a cargo bike, to what has happened here.

    Sort of…..

I’ve sold quite a bit of stuff on here at way less than it’s ‘value’…..not because I’m a martyr or anything, but because it’s a bit of a cunts trick not to.

  • whatever way it's now sold this does all make it a bit awkward.. I don't fully know if it was delivery method or the excitement and commitment but it doesn't take much to know a bike doesn't fit if you can't even imagine a few component changes making it work.. don't even know whether to ask what the cargo requirements are

  • Well said Mr Lazysuperhero ….. I would imagine ( hopefully ) that that’s what most of us are thinking

  • If anyone would like to buy the Cargo bike for £1260, please reach out to me. Thanks to everyone who contributed useful and unuseful responses!

  • back on here for £1260 is the quite the plot twist.

@VeloSurMer had mentioned it was sale to me on my wanted thread but i initially thought it was too big, so was in discussion w/ @stedlocks about buying his minimax. but he stopped responding to my messages, so either his one is not for sale or my idea of doing a small test transfer before meeting him so as to set up payment details on banking app really freaked him in to thinking i was doing a crazy scam. he never let me know. has anyone else managed to buy his minimax? GLWP.

to briefly derail this thread- is test transfer thing a normal way of doing transactions? i've done this many times when buying and selling several high value bikes/guitars/&c over last few yrs w/ no issues. better than loadsa cash flying about.

anyway- in summary; if @stedlocks doesn't want to part w/ his and if @user159172 and @jacktwoshoes aren't in the mix, i'll throw my hat in.

  • @user159172 Istvan buddy this is your chance

  • I'd say ... I'm sure it's a legit thing but i've never heard of a test transfer on banking app? (Is it on Monzo or something? I use Monzo and Revolut and wasn't aware of this feature) Usually when i've test ridden bikes etc i'd leave my phone + driving license or something, failing that if they were old school I'd take cash, like half the asking or something.

Anyway hope it works out and you get one, Omniums are great bikes!

  • could just text him if it wasn't said having the phone number up is a bad idea

  • Like send 10p just to make sure it lands in the right account and then it’s on a previously paid list in your online bank?

    Seems reasonable to me.

Actual real life cash flying about is fine but transferring money to the wrong account scares me.

Wonder how Istvan will pay for this bike, if he’s still interested.

  • Ah i see, i was thinking of something more complicated. This makes sense. Nice idea actually.

  • PayPal allows you to send an invoice/request to which you respond, no possible mistake that way

  • I’m just waiting on Istvan @user159172 to reach out and if he doesn’t then it’s all yours!
