It’s half term and the first week off I’ve had in ages, so time to rest and recoup. So of course I went out on the Cotic and the chain wasn’t tight in the tensioner, it popped off when I hopped a kerb and I went OTB within the first 3km.
The C17 is scraped badly on the right and of course I dented my newly acquired King Cages too, but apart from that the only injuries are to my riding confidence.

looks like a lovely slice of cake, glad you're getting a break!

It’s been such a thoroughly excellent few days, almost like working flat out 45+ hour weeks for a half term is bad for my health…
Added to the half term is great bingo sheet:- Outdoors every day
- Helped a friend move house
- Long deep chats about work, life and the state of management in schools
- Met someone on bumble, attractive af, super intelligent, totally imposter-syndromeing about her but it’s great.

Glad to hear life (or at least these days) is treating you well! Lovely bike as always

5 days!! 5.5 if you count that the Friday evening is when things officially kick off haha
Yeah I’m trying to narrate the positive, maybe that way I’ll manifest some more! -

I legitimately felt faster during the remaining 1.8km back home. Or maybe that’s adrenaline.
All excellent, went over a bump and it must’ve been the last straw, poor thing as it folded up like a forbidden letter.
Here’s the question, though - silver or black guards next?
-
• #216
😂😂😂 lol, no that started when I got into PLP
@Pish x @Hulsroy are absolutely my high water mark right now!
For a brief period I considered just leaving the guards off altogether and running the bike with 2.1”s…..but I couldn’t do it to the poor thing, not with the British winter due.
It also looks a lot like a cartoon character with its lower jaw missing.

Oooooooh. Though I must admit the plain VO silvers from Woods Cyclery are £70 and sorely tempting…..

That’s hard to beat. Though in stereotypical Gujarati fashion (and something that could form a weird alt Goodness Gracious Me skit featuring the two grandmas boasting about their grandsons), I see your £70 VOs and raise you £62 Berthouds from Velo Duo…
-
• #221
Oooooh, you had me at £62, hook and line by Berthouds and sinker at Velo Duo!
Investigating those now. -

Thief of time is excellent too!! I could go on, all of Terry’s work is sublime anyway.

Berthouds ordered ( @Browndonneur my grandmother is ready to boast about the savings as we speak). I was having a routine look around before this morning’s social ride and found a bulge in the rear tire, most likely where the guard caught it. So no riding and new tires too!!
It may be a week or so before I can ride the Stayer, but the piggies don’t mind, super excited about my date on Tuesday and I’m trying to embody this William Stafford poem in the process.
