A lofty and valid question; one for the socio economists I suspect.
I personally don't think I'd get very far asking such a request without at least some minor benefit for the other participant. Perhaps that's where I'm going wrong though and I need to cheer up. -

Yes it does. It would literally take more effort and accrue more risk to use this guy’s voucher than to just use your own credit card for a purchase. You’d be mad to accept it at face value. The decent thing to do would be to offer it at a small discount as is normal on here.
