There's a tiny bit next to the sink, but mainly just small scratches rather than stains.

Self leveling went easier than expected but guess thanks to prep.

Finally getting a loft ladder put into an existing hatch following the recommendations on this thread. I'll need to paint the architrave around the opening which has years old gloss. Do I try to remove it, strip and sand, reinstall and paint properly or just overpaint it?
Thinking a quick overpainting job won't be too noticeable since it's in the ceiling and will minimise mess - everything else is already decorated, so the less sanding the better really. Will I live to regret this?

There was someone 'on here' who layed reclaimed gym floor in their living room. Looks like it was about 4 years ago
https://www.lfgss.com/comments/15942160/I'm trying to understand how badly this could go wrong. It's t&g like any kind of wood floor, right? I'm laying it on a screed lined slab that currently has knackered laminate, so there shouldn't be much prep required. I suppose you'd glue the boards together as you lay them and just whack them real hard from one side to get them to fit together?
Anyway, that person's username was ilmariko. Anyone have details I could use to get hold of them?

Wasn't it Señor_Bear who laid the gym floor? 'Deleted' is just a wide category that all deleted users' posts get plonked into, i.e. posts by Señor_Bear and perhaps also ilmariko.

We have lining paper in our kitchen, and I had to redo a section when we retilled.
I think you'll be able to do it.
If you search here someone, probably airhead, gave some pointers.
My hesitatancy is that plastering isn't that expensive and you will be able to diy any future issues. Whereas once lining paper is damaged it's hard to get back to looking nice. That said I do actually think lining paper has a really nice feel to it.

Most of my house is lining paper. Just do it.
Don't expect perfectly smooth walls thpugh

I did yes - sold the house since.
It did make financial sense to do reclaimed as it was £25/sqm delivered for 22mm x 123mm x 3.7m Junckers Silvasport Beech flooring. Same as some parts of the Tate I was told!
Fitted was £30/sqm and then sanding & lacquer was another £30.
Here is the house with the gym floor sanded off.

And yes, I am still alive & still ride a bike & still sell Champagne

I like the gym floor but not all the scuffs.
Would probably end up laying it then sand and refinish with new random line tape myself. -

I'm with you as in it's more a question of aesthetics. There's an assumption that everyone wants flat smooth walls with entirely uniform paint finish, while impressive its actually quite boring.
Putting lining paper on walls will not make them flat - but it depends what you're working with.
To add to that, is there any staining that you are looking to remove?
